About Wyld Heart

Wyld Heart Ceramics is a small-batch pottery practice rooted in ritual, rest, and real life. Handmade by Sasha Kai in the foothills of Los Angeles, each piece is crafted at a human speed and meant to be lived with, not just looked at.

Being “wyld” at heart is about to moving in alignment with your own cadence. It’s about listening to your inner voice, honoring your pace, and choosing presence over performance. Every Wyld Heart piece exists to hold that energy in tangible form and invite you to return to that rhythm.

Meet Sasha Kai

I'm Sasha (@theepolishedpotter), the hands and heart behind Wyld Heart Ceramics.

For more than a decade, I built a career in corporate tech. Deadlines. Promotions. Pressure. The constant forward motion of ambition. On paper, it looked like success. In my body, it felt like depletion.

After a concussion forced me to slow down, I had to confront what I’d been outrunning. Recovery meant stepping away from the identity I’d worked so hard to build and learning how to rest without earning it.

Pottery entered my life as a date night experiment, but it quickly became something else entirely.

Working with clay gave me a language my body understood. It helped me process depression, anxiety, and grief. It taught me to move at a human speed. It reminded me that creation can be both grounding and expansive.

As a Black woman in corporate tech, I often felt like I had to edit myself to succeed. Pottery showed me another way. Here, style and substance coexist. Precision and softness live in the same vessel. Nothing has to be minimized to fit.

Wyld Heart is an extension of that realization.

Every piece I make is an invitation to slow down, to use beautiful things daily, and to build a life that feels aligned from the inside out.
